Carrie's Running Playlist

I do not know about you but when I am running by myself I have to have music! Especially during a long run, having music with a catchy tune or an upbeat tempo is crucial to keeping me going.  I also keep my playlist on shuffle when I am running, so that I never know what song is coming next- that keeps my mind and body from knowing exactly how much longer I have left to run.  Here are some of my current favorite running songs: (warning some of them are explicit- but  sometimes I have found that a good swear word is what you need to get through a long run;)

  1. Thanks Carrie,

Wow, what a positive, fun and spunky playlist. Now that I've been through most of the songs I didn't already know there are a few gems to maybe add to my sis-in-law's playlist. I'm thinking Taio Cruz and will.i.am might make nice additions and I was flip flopping on Katy Perry but am now strongly leaning toward putting "Firework" in there too.

Making a running playlist for another person was not the simple task I imagined at the start so thanks again for putting this up. One worry I had was the musical flow (like I'm some kind of DJ or something, lol) but I really like the idea of putting one's playlist on "shuffle" so I'll be sure to suggest that. Good stuff up there.

Fair is fair so I'm adding below some of the songs likely to end up on the running playlist I'm putting together. At the moment all are available to listen to on You Tube so anyone can "test run" (punny) the songs before heading to the iTunes store. Some are silly or different but more than a few would surely go on my own workout/running playlist...

Florence + The Machine - Dog Days are Over
    Jem - It's Amazing
Kings of Leon - Holy Roller Novocaine
    Gorillaz - Feel Good inc.
Butch Walker and the Black Widows - Synthesizers
    Terence Fontaine - Flying
    The Lumineers - Ho Hey
Zeroleen - All Good (Original Mix)
Tidus & Yuna: Snow Patrol - Run
Mumford & Sons - The Cave
    Jem - Keep on Walking
Cibo Matto - Sci Fi Wasabi
Michael Franti & Spearhead - The Sound Of Sunshine
    Gram Rabbit - Devil's Playground
    Sea Wolf - You're A Wolf
    honeyhoney - Little Toy Gun
The Big Pink - Hit The Ground
Flogging Molly - Devil's Dance Floor
Modest Mouse - Missed The Boat
    Ladytron - Ghosts
Michael Franti & Spearhead - Say Hey

    Thanks again Carrie
